The Late Brajasundar Das, renowned playwright and actor, critic and teacher, was born in Behala, a southern suburb of Calcutta, on 19th July, 1924. He was a teacher of Barisha High School from 1947 to 1989, and was also a member of the IPTA from 1954. Known for his recitation, he was also a great music-lover and was a renowned social-worker. He passed away on the 15th March, 2010.
In this presentation, he has recited a famous poem by Nazim Hikmet, a Turkish poet, playwright and novelist. The poem has been translated into Bengali by the Late Subhas Mukhopadhyay, one of the foremost Bengali poets of the last century. Incidentally, the centenary of Subhas Mukhopadhyay is presently going on.
