ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: A tracking cookie is something that is saved on your computer that "marks" you for a specified period of time. Many websites use tracking cookies for different purposes. In the case of affiliate links, a tracking cookie would allow a YouTuber or blogger the ability to make money off of a sale from your computer even after you have clicked away from the screen. Someone asked in the comments how long the tracking cookies last for Magic Links. This is the response I got directly from Magic Links:

"This parameter is one of the key parameters we negotiate with retailers in addition to the commission rate. We negotiate for the longest cookie duration possible. On average we have about 18 day durations. Some retailers are up to 90 days and others can be one day."

This means that even if you buy something up to 3 months after you click a YouTuber link, you may still be earning the YouTuber money.
