Zika virus named after its isolation in rhesus monkey at Zika Forest,Uganada.

This virus was outbreak in YAP ISLAND in 2007 where 49 cases positive but its in mild form,there is no death reported.

After that in 2015 there is outbreak in Brazil where 15 lakh people infected by this virus & 3500 child born with microcephaly means small head.

In recent the WHO report there are 3 positive case in Ahmedabad,India in May,2017.

*Transmission

1) By Aedes Aegypti Mosquito which is day bitting mosquito.

2) Sexual

3) Pregnant woman to unborn child

4) Blood Transfusion


** Symptoms

Febrile illness related to dengue.

Microcephaly in new born means mentally deformed child.

Paralysis like illness in some adults.


**Prevention

Decrease chance of mosquito bite & take other precaution like using of repallant,using mosquito net etc & protected sex in infected area.

WHO declare Global Health Emergency.
