PCs mit DOS, Windows 3.1 oder Windows 95 sind nicht mehr so häufig zu finden. Der PC im Video ist ca. 25 Jahre alt und hat wohl einige Jahre in einem kalten und fechten Keller verbracht.

Das Gehäuse ist stärker verrostet als ein VW-Käfer in den 70ern. Vermutlich stand das Gehäuse mal längere Zeit einige Zentimeter unter Wasser. Dieser Rostschaden ist mit Sicherheit nicht das Resultat einer ausgelaufenen Bios-Batterie.

Das Mainboard ist ein Elitegroup P5VX-B mit Sockel 7 und einem Intel Pentium-S Prozessor mit 120MHz. Das Board hat 24MB RAM und eine ATI-Grafikkarte und wahr damals sicherlich nicht billig. Das Mainboard, die Floppy und das BAT-Netzteil funktionieren trotz der 25 Jahre einwandfrei.

Egal wie schmuddelig oder rostig ein alter PC ist, solange die Hardware wie Mainboard oder RAM funktionieren, dann kann man die PCs wieder gut aufarbeiten und instandsetzen.
