Title reads: "M of I - Government Official".

Ministry of Information public information trailer - Don't deprive others more worthy of bus seats! (a gag)

London.

MS bus stop, pan to shot man (George) standing in middle of bus queue. George looks impatiently at his watch. The bus arrives and George pushes to the front to get on the bus. The bus departs, leaving crowd of disappointed people who did not get on (including ATS servicewoman).

George pays his fare to the bus conductress. George gets off the bus only a short distance down the route - other passengers and the conductress look at him disapprovingly.

Various shots of George striding past the bus stop and passing the bus - he is a reformed character and no longer uses public transport for short journeys. Various shots of bus depot. End title superimposed over shot: "Walk Short Distances".
