MS bus stop, pan to shot man (George) standing in middle of bus queue. George looks impatiently at his watch. The bus arrives and George pushes to the front to get on the bus. The bus departs, leaving crowd of disappointed people who did not get on (including ATS servicewoman).
George pays his fare to the bus conductress. George gets off the bus only a short distance down the route - other passengers and the conductress look at him disapprovingly.
George goes into a pub and buys a pint of beer, he looks guilty. He catches a glimpse of himself in the mirror and sees a pig looking back - George is a transport a hog! High speed shot of George running down street.
Various shots of George striding past the bus stop and passing the bus - he is a reformed character and no longer uses public transport for short journeys. Various shots of bus depot. End title superimposed over shot: "Walk Short Distances".
