Carpet Mod is a technical mod, that allows to control and monitor natural spawning, control quasi connectivity options, and has a very robust tick command with tick warping (skipping set time altogether - as fast as it can). This allow to test contraptions and farms that do not require active user participation (clicking for example) in no time. Depending on the farm, you can expect 10-500 times speedups. All in Minecraft 1.11, . Its a server mod, which makes it easier to mod and you can use any vanilla compatible 1.11 client with it. Its also indistinguishable from vanilla server, meaning you can use it instead of vanilla server to test your contraptions on a vanilla world. It is also fully transparent to the world files - all the changes made to the game are gone when the server is restarted. This also helps to ensure that you would not corrupt your world by using this mod, and you can switch back and forth with vanilla servers.

Watch previous Carpet Mod introduction video for detailed instructions how to patch MC server and run a singleplayer world with it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3n8XVm50rY

How to mod the 1.11 server:
- download the patch files with carpet mod (link below) and unzip its content
- download 1.11(.0) from Mojang https://s3.amazonaws.com/Minecraft.Download/versions/1.11/minecraft_server.1.11.jar
- unzip server files content (like it was a zip file). You may need to change the extension from .jar to .zip manually. Make sure files have been extracted, and you are not in a zip file that looks like a folder of files. Use program like 7zip.
- copy all files from the patch folder and paste them to the unzipped content of the 1.11 server
- you should see a warning message about overwriting of files, accept it. That's good. If you don't see it, you did something wrong
- select all files where you just placed your server patches (Ctrl+A), and zip them all to one file. Make sure when opening that zip file directly that all files are placed there directly, so when you open a zip file you see files like META-INF folder or 'a.class' directly in the zip file, not in a subfolder.
- rename that .zip file to server[...].jar

To run your singleplayer world as a server:
- [OPTIONAL] create a world with a title 'world', or rename your current one in the saves folder to 'world' (optional: you could just point the server to the correct world file later on)
- place patched 'server[...].jar' file in the .minecraft/saves folder
- double-click on the server.jar file, it should exit immediately, if you haven't accepted EULA
- edit the newly created 'eula.txt' in the saves folder and change 'false' to 'true'
- run the server again, this time it should start up. Close it after a few seconds
- [OPTIONAL] edit 'server.properties' file to fit your settings. You can change view-distance (I use 12), and level-name to whatever save game you want to run with the server (name of the saves folder), difficulty level, etc.
- run server.jar the third time with your preferred settings.
- run Minecraft game. Instead of Singleplayer choose Multiplayer. Connect to 'direct', and type 'localhost'.
- You are now running your singleplayer world as a multiplayer server with Carpet mod.
- To return to singleplayer - close the server and access your world in "Singleplayer" section of the menu.

About the Site 🌐

This site provides links to random videos hosted at YouTube, with the emphasis on random. πŸŽ₯

Origins of the Idea 🌱

The original idea for this site stemmed from the need to benchmark the popularity of a video against the general population of YouTube videos. 🧠

Challenges Faced πŸ€”

Obtaining a large sample of videos was crucial for accurate ranking, but YouTube lacks a direct method to gather random video IDs.

Even searching for random strings on YouTube doesn't yield truly random results, complicating the process further. πŸ”

Creating Truly Random Links πŸ› οΈ

The YouTube API offers additional functions enabling the discovery of more random videos. Through inventive techniques and a touch of space-time manipulation, we've achieved a process yielding nearly 100% random links to YouTube videos.

About YouTube πŸ“Ί

YouTube, an American video-sharing website based in San Bruno, California, offers a diverse range of user-generated and corporate media content. 🌟

Content and Users 🎡

Users can upload, view, rate, share, and comment on videos, with content spanning video clips, music videos, live streams, and more.

While most content is uploaded by individuals, media corporations like CBS and the BBC also contribute. Unregistered users can watch videos, while registered users enjoy additional privileges such as uploading unlimited videos and adding comments.

Monetization and Impact πŸ€‘

YouTube and creators earn revenue through Google AdSense, with most videos free to view. Premium channels and subscription services like YouTube Music and YouTube Premium offer ad-free streaming.

As of February 2017, over 400 hours of content were uploaded to YouTube every minute, with the site ranking as the second-most popular globally. By May 2019, this figure exceeded 500 hours per minute. πŸ“ˆ
