The "Storm Area 51 Facebook group" has become a breeding ground for a particular subgenre of sh*tposting: depression memes. In this Vlog, we argue that depression memes are the most modern development of a philosophical and psychological sentiment immortalized over 150 years ago in what is considered one of the first existentialist stories: Fyodor Dostoevsky's novella Notes From Underground.
