Improving Super Smash Brothers: The Base Game Video

Have you ever wondered how a game like Smash Brothers could be even better? How the gameplay could be changed, what new modes could be added, and what new features could make the game even more exciting?

Well, that's what we're discussing today! Here are some of the ways we can improve the base game of Super Smash Brothers!

May 2020 Retrospective Edit: There's an interesting paradox that happens when you aren't confident in your own opinions. You tend to throw out disclaimers, shield yourself with subjectivity and the like, but the reality of the situation is often that you're not being honest with yourself about why your views aren't all that great, and that keeps you from developing them into something that truly IS great!

That's how I feel about this video. I could make this so much better today, there are some decent skeletons here that I could build into much better concepts, but as they stand now they're a bit amateur! Lotta comments have already talked about what some of those improvements could be (Shield specials over unique shields especially), but there's so much more to be done with this topic. Turn that customizable gameplay into expanding Special Smash, get crazier with the new modes, try pitching entirely new fighting mechanics... I'll get to revisiting this subject eventually. I'd give it a begrudging 7/10 today, it's fine and serviceable, but there's room for improvement!
