Refurbished Handbag ⭐ Leathercraft Project. Is It Worth The Time and Effort? First step in this handbag makeover and restoration was to remove the binding and the straps and hardware. I made a pattern of the buckle straps and strap ends and cut out veg tan pieces and put a border design on them with a vintage leather stamping tool. I have had a fairly old sterling silver concho I have been saving for the just right project and the is that project the concho was made by Sunset Trails and measures one and three quarters in diameter. I used leather that I already had that was in my leather rack as you will see in the video it is two layers glued together I did this for added strength and body. The lacing you see on the buckle and strap ends is Kangaroo lace that is one quarter inch wide and matches the handbag perfectly.
This makeover is also called up-cycled I can certainly say it was fun as well as challenging.
