Thakkarapetti is a common malabar snack in my childhood. It is usually prepared during any special occasions ( thakkaram or salkaram ) and hence it is named as thakkara petti. The main ingredient for making this delicious snack is bread only. I love making creative and delicious snacks with bread. Bread is the most versatile ingredient in our pantry shelf. For those who love varieties in cooking or for those who need something special to serve for a crowd for iftar , this is the perfect snack. So easy to make and here I prepared a spicy beef filling for this thakkarapetti. The filling depends upon our taste only. You can make sweet filling, chicken filling, potato filling, vegetable filling for this snack. And this snack is a deep fried snack and so all those Ayeshas kitchen viewers who need non fried snacks recipes can shallow fry the snack after dipping it in the egg batter. But it won't looks like a box even though it tastes good. The word thakkarapetti in english means party box. Yes, it was the common snack which is prepared during party or functions like iftar party, puthiyapila salkaram etc.
