1990s tabloid show Hard Copy and MJ protagonist Diane Dimond chase down a "very credible" accusation against Jackson. A teenager gives hours of unwavering and emotional graphic claims against Jackson, says he isn't in it for the money, even agrees to talk to detectives. Ultimately he admits the entire thing was false and orchestrated with the help of another.
Flash forwarded 25 years and HBO has green-lit the even less credible accusations by Wade Robson and Safechuck. A tabloid television show from the 1990s with one of Jackson's biggest detractors still did infinitely more due-diligence investigating such a claim than HBO in their planned release of Leaving Neverland.
