Here's a 2022 revamp of this video with better quality!
https://youtu.be/leqrXsWw2e0Today we are dealing with a Phalaenopsis orchid that suffers from crown rot. This disease can be lethal as it affects the growth point on a monopodial orchid, however there are cases in which orchids can be saved. This is how I would deal with such a disease, with a non toxic method.

Crown rot is favored by water left in the crown of an orchid. This puddle of water is a breeding ground for bacteria to multiply and infect the core of an orchid. The first rule is prevention, it is always a good idea to maintain crowns of monopodial orchids as dry as possible, especially in a home environment.
In the case of an established infection, the first step is to stop the disease from spreading. Fungicides might do a good job, but they can be toxic to us, so here is a non toxic method that worked for me in the past.
After cleaning the roots of old medium and generally ensure a proper hygiene, it's time to focus on the crown. I use hydrogen peroxide 3% to burn the infected tissue, fungi spores and bacteria. After the initial violent reaction there will only be water left, so this needs to be removed as best as possible after 10-15 minutes from application.
Adding a drying agent to the crown will help keep the area and infected tissue dry. A good product is ground cinnamon, which is knows for its drying properties. Careful wit cinnamon, it can desiccate roots and flower spikes, apply only in infected areas.
After this it is important to maintain the crown dry so that the infection doesn't activate once more. Open tissue is vulnerable to reinfection.
It is important to leave on the flower spikes, if the orchid has any. If the crown is completely damaged, but the infection was stopped, the orchid might decide to put out a spike keiki, or a basal keiki.
This treatment, like many other treatments, will not function all the time, it depends on the severity of the infection and the strength of the individual. Prevention is always better than treatment.

About the Site 🌐
This site provides links to random videos hosted at YouTube, with the emphasis on random. 🎥
Origins of the Idea 🌱
The original idea for this site stemmed from the need to benchmark the popularity of a video against the general population of YouTube videos. 🧠
Challenges Faced 🤔
Obtaining a large sample of videos was crucial for accurate ranking, but YouTube lacks a direct method to gather random video IDs.
Even searching for random strings on YouTube doesn't yield truly random results, complicating the process further. 🔍
Creating Truly Random Links 🛠️
The YouTube API offers additional functions enabling the discovery of more random videos. Through inventive techniques and a touch of space-time manipulation, we've achieved a process yielding nearly 100% random links to YouTube videos.
About YouTube 📺
YouTube, an American video-sharing website based in San Bruno, California, offers a diverse range of user-generated and corporate media content. 🌟
Content and Users 🎵
Users can upload, view, rate, share, and comment on videos, with content spanning video clips, music videos, live streams, and more.
While most content is uploaded by individuals, media corporations like CBS and the BBC also contribute. Unregistered users can watch videos, while registered users enjoy additional privileges such as uploading unlimited videos and adding comments.
Monetization and Impact 🤑
YouTube and creators earn revenue through Google AdSense, with most videos free to view. Premium channels and subscription services like YouTube Music and YouTube Premium offer ad-free streaming.
As of February 2017, over 400 hours of content were uploaded to YouTube every minute, with the site ranking as the second-most popular globally. By May 2019, this figure exceeded 500 hours per minute. 📈
