FEWER EMERGENCIES WILL SHAKE YOU UP, TEAR YOU DOWN AND MAKE YOU LAUGH.

Granary Productions present this searing contemporary play from maverick writer Martin Crimp. Playing at the Granary Theatre from 13 June 2011, "Fewer Emergencies" is a trio of loosely linked plays portraying a bizarre, distorting-mirror vision of contemporary life, ranging from the private disappointments of a loveless marriage to a world where random terror may break out at any moment. The play is eerie and fascinating and the audience is immersed in the style of immediate theatre as the show is presented in-the-round.

Directed by Tony McCleane-Fay, who's recent credits include a sold-out run of Spring Awakening in the Granary, Rent in the Cork Opera House and Disco Pigs in the Everyman Palace, Fewer Emergencies and featuring the best of local professional acting talent, Frank Prendergast, George Hanover, Donal McDonald and newcomer Clodagh Mooney Duggan, Fewer Emergencies is not to be missed. The play is fast, frenetic, very funny, haunting and very graphic, not for the faint hearted.

Over the past few years Granary has produced many plays across many genres not just in the Granary Theatre but off-site. Irish Premieres (4:48 Psychosis), revivals (Disco Pigs), devised plays (FOWL) and even musicals (Spring Awakening)! Fewer Emergencies is the second in a new series of theatre pieces being presented this year. The first, Spring Awakening, played to full houses in March and is transferring to the 600 seat Everyman Palace in October. After Fewer Emergencies they commence casting for the Irish Premiere of Sarah Kane's Cleansed, which will receive it's Irish Premiere in Granary in September and transfer to Smock Alley Theatre in Dublin in November. They are also working on an adult play performed by children, That Night Follows Day written by Forced Entertainment's Tim Etchells, for production next year.

Granary's Fewer Emergencies is pleased to be associated with Cork's Midsummer Festival.
