This SG has perplexed me for quite some time. I remember I first ran into it by accident when looking up other guitars photos. The picture didn't have a description and I couldn't find any other photos or videos of it. I just figured it was a one off/custom build guitar and I let it go... But the next time I saw it, it was with a special case and with a Gibson tag. At that point, since I couldn't find evidence of one of these existing outside of stock photos, I just thought it was a prototype to a run of guitars that never made it to production for whatever reason.

I decided to dig deeper though and I've compiled this video so people can readily have access to this information without having to search the internet for hours.

This is the Billy Gibbon's Designed, Gibson Made, Neiman Marcus sold SG Flying V combo guitar. It was made for Neiman Marcus' 2015 Winter / Christmas Catalog and was paired with 2 acoustic guitars - one from Steve Miller and another from Lyle Lovett. Since Neiman Marcus is a luxury fashion retailer, it doesn't make a lot of sense for them to sell guitars, but they ordered 10 of each style of guitar to sell at $30,000 a piece. Included in that price is the guitar, 2 tickets to a concert of your Artist's guitar concert and the chance for the artist themself to play the guitar on stage and give it to you at the show. A $5000 donation was also made in your name to a charity. In the BGSG case, it was to The HeART of Neiman Marcus charity foundation.

This SG features a copper/gold (that appears pink) finish with a custom carved green portion on the top of the guitar. It has a 1961 SG body shape and a vintage flying V headstock. 3 controls (2 volume, 1 tone) and no pickup selector switch. Mahogany body and neck with unbound rosewood fretboard with dot inlays. It also has a vintage sideways pull vibrato tremolo unit
