in 2011-12 the San Francisco Symphony celebrates its 100th season. A one-hour documentary film traces the civic and cultural impact and role of the Orchestra in its community. Narrated by Amy Tan, it features interviews with musicians, artists and supporters, rare archival images, and footage, and was produced for the San Francisco Symphony by Janette Gitler. Made possible by a generous gift from Nan Tucker McEvoy. Excerpt: The Early Days. To be released on DVD on SFS Media April 1, 2012.
