If you’ve ever shot a video on your camera or mobile phone, you’ve probably experienced the shaking camera problem. Unfortunately, hand-held filming by its very nature will often result in shaky shots and accidentally abrupt movement. But how can you avoid this? There are two ways you can achieve a smoother result: use professional equipment or improvise with the tools you have.

If you've decided to make professional videos and are ready to spend some money on equipment, you’ll definitely need to invest in one of the following:

▪ A tripod
Using a tripod is the most reliable way to avoid shaky video. It helps you to keep the camera as stable as possible, which is the biggest plus.
But it can be a minus as well if the result is boring scenes, especially if nothing is moving in the shot.

▪ A monopod.
You get more freedom with a monopod than a tripod. It lets you be more flexible and shoot more varied and dynamic scenes.

▪ Steadicam
This is probably the most expensive solution – Steadicams are specially designed to keep in-motion shooting stabilized and can be quite complex to use.

If you don't have much money or the desire to buy the equipment described above, the suggestions below are a lot more accessible. Using these simple tricks, you'll be able to achieve pretty smooth videos:

★Your camera strap
This is the easiest trick for stabilization.
Hang the camera around your neck, hold it with both hands, and create a little tension in the strap while shooting the video.

★ Elastic band.
Take a very large elastic band. Fasten it on the bottom of the camera and pass it under your foot to form a triangle. The tensioning will help to settle the occasional up-and-down or side-to-side shaking of the camera.

★ Paper bag
Take a strong paper bag, place the camera in the bottom of it, and make a hole for the lens. Having the camera in the bag lets you shoot in motion, like the shoulder stop, but from a lower perspective, not eye-level.

If you've already shot a shaky video and you don't have time to reshoot it, you can fix the shaky parts with the help of stabilization tools in your video editing software. Every video editor has this kind of tool somewhere in its collection. Experiment with different settings and stabilization methods to see what works best for your video.

About the Site 🌐

This site provides links to random videos hosted at YouTube, with the emphasis on random. 🎥

Origins of the Idea 🌱

The original idea for this site stemmed from the need to benchmark the popularity of a video against the general population of YouTube videos. 🧠

Challenges Faced 🤔

Obtaining a large sample of videos was crucial for accurate ranking, but YouTube lacks a direct method to gather random video IDs.

Even searching for random strings on YouTube doesn't yield truly random results, complicating the process further. 🔍

Creating Truly Random Links 🛠️

The YouTube API offers additional functions enabling the discovery of more random videos. Through inventive techniques and a touch of space-time manipulation, we've achieved a process yielding nearly 100% random links to YouTube videos.

About YouTube 📺

YouTube, an American video-sharing website based in San Bruno, California, offers a diverse range of user-generated and corporate media content. 🌟

Content and Users 🎵

Users can upload, view, rate, share, and comment on videos, with content spanning video clips, music videos, live streams, and more.

While most content is uploaded by individuals, media corporations like CBS and the BBC also contribute. Unregistered users can watch videos, while registered users enjoy additional privileges such as uploading unlimited videos and adding comments.

Monetization and Impact 🤑

YouTube and creators earn revenue through Google AdSense, with most videos free to view. Premium channels and subscription services like YouTube Music and YouTube Premium offer ad-free streaming.

As of February 2017, over 400 hours of content were uploaded to YouTube every minute, with the site ranking as the second-most popular globally. By May 2019, this figure exceeded 500 hours per minute. 📈
