๐๐ --- DISCLAIMER --- ๐๐
No, we are not real world pilots. The polo with epaulettes is only worn during these flight simulator VATSIM live flights on this channel. AviationPro highly respects all real world pilots who have worked hard to earn the real world rank. In this case, we only apply epaulettes to a simple polo shirt with our logo to add a touch of aviation and to make clear the role division during multi crew flights. They are not worn in public at any time, only during these particular VATSIM Full Flight videos. Roger, Roger?

๐๐ --- FAQ: --- ๐๐
๐ค - Are you real world pilots?
No.
๐ค - Why are you wearing uniforms?
They are polo's with the channel's logo and some epaulettes to make clear the role division and to add a touch of aviation. Epaulettes are readily available and can be applied to different contexts. See disclaimer above for more.
๐ค - Why is the captain in the wrong seat?
I only have one yoke and rudder set and the joysticks are not used as flight controls. Hence, the position of the pilot flying is fixed. I know that the captain sits in the left seat normally, don't worry...
๐ค - Why does the 'Captain' talk so much?
My F/O doesn't have time for flightsimming in his spare time, that's why our levels of experience differ. Since it's just a flight simulator, I'm trying to help out wherever we can. Don't expect to see full CRM at work here. There's a reason why flight training exists: to (amongst many other things) learn exactly that, and that's something I'd like to save for later. Sure, if some day we both have ATPLs, we will likely show full CRM, but all our knowledge is currently based on things we have teached ourselves.
๐ค - What's all this?
To learn more, watch my 2017 tutorial series on VATSIM:
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLtO_n5SzuAadbW1hjV59Ebm6s9APfWsZM๐ค - Shouldn't you be outside, get a life, do real world flight training etc.
No. We do have lives next to this hobby. We are both university students, I'm personally exploring options to go into flight training, and yes, we do go outside and meet plenty of people, have other hobbies that exist in the real world.
About the Site ๐
This site provides links to random videos hosted at YouTube, with the emphasis on random. ๐ฅ
Origins of the Idea ๐ฑ
The original idea for this site stemmed from the need to benchmark the popularity of a video against the general population of YouTube videos. ๐ง
Challenges Faced ๐ค
Obtaining a large sample of videos was crucial for accurate ranking, but YouTube lacks a direct method to gather random video IDs.
Even searching for random strings on YouTube doesn't yield truly random results, complicating the process further. ๐
Creating Truly Random Links ๐ ๏ธ
The YouTube API offers additional functions enabling the discovery of more random videos. Through inventive techniques and a touch of space-time manipulation, we've achieved a process yielding nearly 100% random links to YouTube videos.
About YouTube ๐บ
YouTube, an American video-sharing website based in San Bruno, California, offers a diverse range of user-generated and corporate media content. ๐
Content and Users ๐ต
Users can upload, view, rate, share, and comment on videos, with content spanning video clips, music videos, live streams, and more.
While most content is uploaded by individuals, media corporations like CBS and the BBC also contribute. Unregistered users can watch videos, while registered users enjoy additional privileges such as uploading unlimited videos and adding comments.
Monetization and Impact ๐ค
YouTube and creators earn revenue through Google AdSense, with most videos free to view. Premium channels and subscription services like YouTube Music and YouTube Premium offer ad-free streaming.
As of February 2017, over 400 hours of content were uploaded to YouTube every minute, with the site ranking as the second-most popular globally. By May 2019, this figure exceeded 500 hours per minute. ๐
