Looking for things to do near Yellowstone National Park?
Living in Big Sky, Montana definitely has its perks - not only is it near great skiing, it's also a short drive away from Yellowstone National Park.
One morning, we drove 1 hour from Big Sky, Montana to West Yellowstone, Montana for some major adventuring.

1) Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center:

Home to grizzly bears and gray wolves, the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center in West Yellowstone is a great place to spend a few hours. We went during early April when a few of the exhibits were closed, however my boyfriend and I both agreed that the $13 per person ticket was worth the money. Open 365 days a year, the center cares for grizzly bears and wolves who are unable to survive in the wild anymore. Bring your camera and enjoy watching these animals up-close!
2) Earthquake Lake aka "Quake Lake":

Less than 20 miles from West Yellowstone, we took a road trip to Earthquake Lake. In the late 1950's, a massive earthquake shook the area and caused an unfortunate mountain landslide. This landslide dammed up the Madison River and formed what is known as "Quake Lake." Although extremely sad, this is a MUST STOP when looking for things to do near Yellowstone. Soak in the history and bring a camera during your travels to this Montana landmark.
