Multi-Blind: 61/64 in 57:10 (Former World Best) Video

Home
Update: I beat this on December 24, 2019. The link to that video:

That last DNF was a little frustrating, but hey, can't complain about another WB :D

This is my 17th 50+ point result, and my FOURTH 58 pointer! For some reason the 58 point barrier is turning out to be a formidable one...I'm sure I'll break through soon though.

Link to the full, unedited video of the attempt:

Memorization time: 36:55 = 34.61 memo/cube. Good, but not my best on 64 cubes.
Execution time: 20:15 = 18.98 exec/cube! This is amazing for me! I've never had sub-20 exec/cube before on any attempt where I don't do super safe memo. I'm in disbelief with this to be honest.

DNFs causes:
- maaaaaybe this was a recall error but it's hard to say. I DNFed cus I did the UFR UBL DBR 3twist the wrong way. I'm pretty sure I memorized it the same way that I twisted it but I'm just not really sure. Leaning on the side of tracing error rather than recall error
- did an extra D setup move at the end of the setup in the alg [U'D R' U : [R' U' R, D]]. Just a bit of a brainfart in muscle memory.
- for some reason i recalled "i'm RuBBing the HUlu lifeSaVers for Ketamine", should have been MMMmmm instead of Ketamine. Pretty sure I reviewed it this way too...

Memo splits:
Memo+review 1-8: 2:49
Memo+review 9-16: 2:50
Review 1-16: 2:09
Memo+review 17-24: 3:15 oof
Memo+review 25-32: 3:18 ooooof
Review 17-32: 2:27
Review 1-32: 4:59
Memo+review 33-40: 3:10
Memo+review 41-48: 2:58
Review 33-48: 2:25
Memo+review 49-63: 6:15
Memo 64: 0:20

About the Site 🌐

This site provides links to random videos hosted at YouTube, with the emphasis on random. πŸŽ₯

Origins of the Idea 🌱

The original idea for this site stemmed from the need to benchmark the popularity of a video against the general population of YouTube videos. 🧠

Challenges Faced πŸ€”

Obtaining a large sample of videos was crucial for accurate ranking, but YouTube lacks a direct method to gather random video IDs.

Even searching for random strings on YouTube doesn't yield truly random results, complicating the process further. πŸ”

Creating Truly Random Links πŸ› οΈ

The YouTube API offers additional functions enabling the discovery of more random videos. Through inventive techniques and a touch of space-time manipulation, we've achieved a process yielding nearly 100% random links to YouTube videos.

About YouTube πŸ“Ί

YouTube, an American video-sharing website based in San Bruno, California, offers a diverse range of user-generated and corporate media content. 🌟

Content and Users 🎡

Users can upload, view, rate, share, and comment on videos, with content spanning video clips, music videos, live streams, and more.

While most content is uploaded by individuals, media corporations like CBS and the BBC also contribute. Unregistered users can watch videos, while registered users enjoy additional privileges such as uploading unlimited videos and adding comments.

Monetization and Impact πŸ€‘

YouTube and creators earn revenue through Google AdSense, with most videos free to view. Premium channels and subscription services like YouTube Music and YouTube Premium offer ad-free streaming.

As of February 2017, over 400 hours of content were uploaded to YouTube every minute, with the site ranking as the second-most popular globally. By May 2019, this figure exceeded 500 hours per minute. πŸ“ˆ
