As event professionals, we’re the wizards behind the curtain, making sure that everything is running smoothly and pulling all the levers backstage from behind the scenes.

There are thousands of small details that we have to manage with every single event and in order to do so, there are three key things that we need to have in order to be successful: the tools, the team, and the temperament.

1. The Tools

Think of a tool that you use every single day as an event professional, and that you could not live without. You’re probably thinking about something along the lines of a computer, or an autocad program, or maybe even a tape measure. What about your cell phone? This thing can be packed with different apps to track things like weather, temperature, flights, traffic and so much more. Don’t forget to add an extra charger and maybe some external batteries as well.

2. The Team

There’s no tool out there that is as valuable as a reliable team. You need a great network of vendors, and contract staff and colleagues to help you produce any event, regardless of the budget or size.

Invest in your people. You should send them to conferences, networking events and educational programs that are going to teach them how to use your software and hardware, so that they’re fully abreast on how to use your toolkit.

Also remember that your client is a huge part of your team. Cultivate a really strong relationship with them as they are going to be the people that are going to refer you to different clients, bring in new business and then help you set your reputation in the industry.

3. The Temperament

Whether you’re a zany, creative designer, or a really serious logistics minded producer, your strengths, weaknesses and attitude are going to be the things that help drive and create your event brand.

By quickly and calmly addressing any major concerns or issues that come up during an event set or during the event itself, my team understands I support them and in return they are there for me.

In Conclusion

As event professionals, we’re responsible for a lot of things and money and people. Each of us has a unique skill set in their way of doing things in order to get the job done, which is what makes the events industry so interesting. There are thousands of service providers pretty much doing the same thing but in a little different way. By focusing on your tools, your team and your temperament, you’re definitely on the way of becoming a successful event professional.

About the Site 🌐

This site provides links to random videos hosted at YouTube, with the emphasis on random. 🎥

Origins of the Idea 🌱

The original idea for this site stemmed from the need to benchmark the popularity of a video against the general population of YouTube videos. 🧠

Challenges Faced 🤔

Obtaining a large sample of videos was crucial for accurate ranking, but YouTube lacks a direct method to gather random video IDs.

Even searching for random strings on YouTube doesn't yield truly random results, complicating the process further. 🔍

Creating Truly Random Links 🛠️

The YouTube API offers additional functions enabling the discovery of more random videos. Through inventive techniques and a touch of space-time manipulation, we've achieved a process yielding nearly 100% random links to YouTube videos.

About YouTube 📺

YouTube, an American video-sharing website based in San Bruno, California, offers a diverse range of user-generated and corporate media content. 🌟

Content and Users 🎵

Users can upload, view, rate, share, and comment on videos, with content spanning video clips, music videos, live streams, and more.

While most content is uploaded by individuals, media corporations like CBS and the BBC also contribute. Unregistered users can watch videos, while registered users enjoy additional privileges such as uploading unlimited videos and adding comments.

Monetization and Impact 🤑

YouTube and creators earn revenue through Google AdSense, with most videos free to view. Premium channels and subscription services like YouTube Music and YouTube Premium offer ad-free streaming.

As of February 2017, over 400 hours of content were uploaded to YouTube every minute, with the site ranking as the second-most popular globally. By May 2019, this figure exceeded 500 hours per minute. 📈
