Have a look around the impressive building in 360 Degree video. It is build on a high point in the city of Armagh and has great views over the town and the surrounding countryside.

There are different historical places in Northern Ireland that we could recommend for all those coming to visit this country. One of these different places is St. Patrick's Catholic Cathedral Church that is located in county Armagh and which dates back to 1840 when the first steps in building it were taken and which was completed in 1904.

When this church first came to life, it was aimed to serve as the Roman Catholic Cathedral of the Archdiocese of Armagh, which was the original Medieval Cathedral of Armagh of St. Patrick which was then transferred to the Protestant Church of Ireland at the time of the Irish Reformation.

In addition to the history of the church and the different stages it has gone through, it is important to mention that one of the things that also make this historical church one of the touristic locations in Northern Ireland is the view that it manages to offer the visitors since it is located on Sandy hill (which almost took 60 years) along with its Anglican counterpart, which will in turn give them the chance to view Armagh town as a whole from above.

The different stages that the building of the cathedral has gone through also included the pause it went through and which happened during the Great Famine in Ireland, after which the cathedral was then completed and came to life. St. Patrick's Catholic Cathedral was built in the Gothic Revival Style and has been completed using mainly Irish materials and workmanship - which is considered another thing the Irish people should be proud of.

The thing about this cathedral is that it is old yet it went through some restorations; the decorative style of the cathedral was changed in 1982 but the building itself did not go through any major change until 1904 but after that, some major changes needed to be taken, which was by 2002; a lot of damage has been caused to the tower church and thus the repairs were necessary to be taken, since the construction methods of walls and wear to the roofs led to the damp that damaged the mosaic walls and the painted decorations had been dulled with smoke and dust - it needed these restorations that really helped the building more than it actually added to the beauty of the place as a historical touristic attraction in general.

All this history brings us to the cathedral which we tend to visit today. In addition to being a place for tourists coming to county Armagh to visit, it is also considered a church that Irish people living around head to. The daily Mass is held in the cathedral everyday from Monday to Saturday at 10 AM, on Sunday it is celebrated at 9 AM, 11 AM, and 5:30 PM with a Vigil Mass on Saturday evening. Holy Day Masses are celebrated at 9 and 11 AM, and the confessions in the church are usually heard before and after the Saturday evening Vigil Mass; so if you want to attend any of these different things, here you go!
