This planetarium and observatory is located in Armagh in Northern Ireland in what is known as the Armagh Astropark, which is about fourteen acres of landscaped grounds that is very close to the centre of the city.
There is a long history behind the evolution of Armagh Planetarium; first, it was open to the public officially in 1968 although it managed to welcome people to the place before that as well, and after that there were different alterations done to the place like extending it, as well as adding other things to it like the dome that was created to house a 400 mm reflecting telescope for the public use and which is currently the largest public telescope in Ireland, as well as the new exhibition hall that was added in 1994 under the name of "Eartharium" to increase the interest in the science of Earth.
