1) Societe Generale - Jérôme Kerviel made unauthorised trades/bets that were worth 50 billion euros between 2005 and 2008. Bank had a net loss of 4.9 Billion euros!
2) Long Term Capital Management - 1998 they lost 4 billion dollars and basically this was the start of a cascade to stuff leading to a market crisis.
3) Amaranth Advisors - this was the natural gas one. Company collapsed in 2006 after losing more than $6 billion on natural gas futures.
4) Sumitomo Corp - metal trading scandal in 1995 involving Yasuo Hamanaka. He ran losses up to 2.6 billion in unauthorised copper trading.
5) Barings Bank collapse - Nick Leeson was in Singapore and traing Nikkei futures - 1995 - he tried to hide a lot of the trades he was doing and ended losing $1.3 Billion.
6) Daiwa Bank - Rogue trader Toshihide Iguchi hid $1.1 billion worth of losses while working for Daiwa Bank in the 1980s.
7) Allied Irish $691 million - John Rusnak, a forex dealer at the Baltimore headquarters of U.S. unit Allfirst, apparently tried to conceal huge losses through fictitious foreign-exchange trades from early 2001 through 2002.
8) Bear Sterns - lost 1.6 Billion, mid-2007 because they were highly leveraged in stuff they shouldn't have been.
