In this tutorial I explain how to stay motivated when starting a business. In a way, finding motivation when starting a business should not really be a part of the discussion because the motivation should really come from inside. The entrepreneur should be naturally driven and motivated to grow their business.
Nevertheless, many people often approach me and ask me about how they can stay motivated when starting a business, and stay on track.
One tool I found very helpful early on is to maintain a to-do list. There are many to-do list apps out there. Even my http://www.problemio.com apps have a to-do list. Although a to-do list is not really the main focus of my apps. But basically, you can find that feature anywhere. It is very basic.
What is really helpful about a to-do list is that it can really help you stay motivated when starting a business if you keep adding small and doable items to your to-do list. And you should try to accomplish some of those items on your to-do list every day. Then, over time, you can really see your progress, and that will not only give you motivation, but it will also keep you organized and focused.
Lastly, I am going to give you homework that will help you stay motivated when starting your business. Try to notice what things are causing you to procrastinate. And really focus on those things. Notice the mental triggers that push you towards those things. What are they? Is there any way to turn those procrastination triggers into ways to motivate yourself to work on your business?
