Today is Wednesday 24th February 2016 and we are commenting very briefly on Donald Trump’s victory in Nevada.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has easily won the US State of Nevada, cementing his lead in the race for Party nomination. Trump now has three consecutive wins, after victories in New Hampshire and South Carolina.
Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz, are vying for second place and it looks as if Rubio may clinch that position.
With 94% of the votes counted the results are:
Donald Trump 45.94%
Marco Rubio 23.74%
Ted Cruz 21.49%
With Kasich and Carson in low single percentage figures.
Some 30 delegates - around 1% of the total - are up for grabs in the Nevada caucuses.
Super Tuesday on 1st March 2016 will reveal whether we have 2 or 3 candidates still in the race, or it may simply just be 1. With a quarter of the delegates available this is the most important battle for the top 3 candidates so far and if the polls are correct, Trump will again romp home unabated.
