Having led the polls for many weeks by a huge margin, and having damaged the credibility of most of his ‘party’s opponents’ a clear decision, in our view, was taken to replace Trump as soon as possible. Firstly it began with most of the candidates attacking him, and we saw this prior to and during the Second debate run by CNN. The next stage was to question his Conservative principles, spearheaded by Rand Paul and reinforced in Rick Perry’s resignation speech given last week.
So the guns are out and bullets are being fired, all aimed at Donald Trump. We shall no doubt see more campaigns being suspended, and the candidates calling for a “Conservative” to be the nominee – i.e. anyone but Trump. We all know that Jeb Bush is the nominee elect, with Carly Fiorina being the female stalking horse.
