WATCH THIS before buying a Porsche 911 997 Carrera | In depth depreciation analysis and buying guide Video

Home
The Porsche 997 Carrera is the successor of the 911 Carrera 996 and the most noteworthy changes concern a new exterior and interior. The prices of the Carrera 911 997 have decreased significantly and that might turn out to provide a good buying opportunity. This video covers, therefore, a full depreciation analysis of the Porsche 911 997.

Because there are so many different types of the Porsche Carrera 997, the depreciation analysis is split in two parts. The first part covers the non S models and you can find that video over here:
https://youtu.be/3nqhGy411bc

The second part (this part) covers all the S models including the Porsche Carrera 2S, and Carrera 4S and Targa 4S. Additional to a normal depreciation analysis, the analysis shows if the depreciation for the cars is different for different roof types (cabriolet/coupe), transmission types, the presence of the famous sport chrono package, and the facelift cars.

It turned out that the facelift type had a significant effect on all of the depreciation curves. This could, of course, be expected as facelift type is highly correlated with model year. If we evaluate the whole market, we saw that the Targa 4S was depreciation the most an average rate of EUR 7000,- per year. This is however mainly caused by the depreciation of the facelifted cars which sits at EUR 16.000 per. The pre-facelifted cars are in fact going up in value with an average of EUR 1000,- per year. Additionally, also the Carrera 4S cars are starting to show a bottom in the market as the cars from 2005 donโ€™t seem to be depreciation anymore. However, on average, these cars are not yet appreciating.

*Please note that I used the German market in this video as an example. This means that the absolute prices are of course different from your local market. The relative market movements should, however, be the same for most markets.
*Please note that the displayed depreciation curves for the individual models are either second or first order depending on the best fit. The

About the Site ๐ŸŒ

This site provides links to random videos hosted at YouTube, with the emphasis on random. ๐ŸŽฅ

Origins of the Idea ๐ŸŒฑ

The original idea for this site stemmed from the need to benchmark the popularity of a video against the general population of YouTube videos. ๐Ÿง

Challenges Faced ๐Ÿค”

Obtaining a large sample of videos was crucial for accurate ranking, but YouTube lacks a direct method to gather random video IDs.

Even searching for random strings on YouTube doesn't yield truly random results, complicating the process further. ๐Ÿ”

Creating Truly Random Links ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ

The YouTube API offers additional functions enabling the discovery of more random videos. Through inventive techniques and a touch of space-time manipulation, we've achieved a process yielding nearly 100% random links to YouTube videos.

About YouTube ๐Ÿ“บ

YouTube, an American video-sharing website based in San Bruno, California, offers a diverse range of user-generated and corporate media content. ๐ŸŒŸ

Content and Users ๐ŸŽต

Users can upload, view, rate, share, and comment on videos, with content spanning video clips, music videos, live streams, and more.

While most content is uploaded by individuals, media corporations like CBS and the BBC also contribute. Unregistered users can watch videos, while registered users enjoy additional privileges such as uploading unlimited videos and adding comments.

Monetization and Impact ๐Ÿค‘

YouTube and creators earn revenue through Google AdSense, with most videos free to view. Premium channels and subscription services like YouTube Music and YouTube Premium offer ad-free streaming.

As of February 2017, over 400 hours of content were uploaded to YouTube every minute, with the site ranking as the second-most popular globally. By May 2019, this figure exceeded 500 hours per minute. ๐Ÿ“ˆ
