Game of Thrones - Ballygally Castle Hotel - Door Number 9 Video

Home
The Irish Doors from the Game of Thrones Seasons - when trees fell in The Dark Hedges - they were crafted into beautiful pub doors that are located around Northern Ireland. Here is Door 9 - Ballygally Castle Hotel. If you're a fan of Game of Thrones - these doors are a must see! This stop on GOT tour is door 9 from the series of 10. Ballygally is a beautiful little town worth checking out as well - as is the Castle Hotel!

Game of Thrones is a movie series that succeeded at attracting a huge number of audience to it and it even completed the success through making several episodes. This movie series was filmed in different countries around the world but most of the scenes were in Northern Ireland and this helped us in making several tours to check those filming locations and at the same time get the chance to see those wooden art doors.

For those who are not familiar with the Dark Hedges, which also happen to be one of the different locations in which the movie was filmed; it is the street where about 150 beech trees were planted back then as an atmospheric tunnel to serve as an entrance to the house that James Stuart built back in 1775 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWSVzAgt-us). Because of being old enough, some of these trees fell down and even other ones are threatened to fall down with any bad weather conditions. When some of these trees fell, they were transformed to those wooden doors which are placed in some bars and pubs around the country.

One of these different places and where door number 9 is found is the Ballygally Castle Hotel. Ballygally Castle is located in the village of Ballygally in county Antrim and overlooks the sea at the Ballygally Bay. This 17th century old building has been turned into a hotel and is reputed as one of the most haunted places in all of Ulster due to the ghost room that it has and the stories about the ghosts living in the round tower attached to it and which is known as The Haunted Tower (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0hsIS4dlho).

The stories of the ghosts living in this castle might make some people scared from booking a room in it, but there are others who just get excited to know more about the story since this part is not open for the public to sleep in; it is just used as a place where they could check and read more about those stories related to the ghosts. There are actually different stories for different ghosts which are believed to visit the place; the most famous ones are Isobel Shaw who was the former resident and who is considered the most active, she tends to knock on the doors and disappear, and there is also Madame Nixon who used to live in the hotel in the 19th century and who could be heard walking around the hotel with her silk dress.

Visitors might not get the chance to experience any of these visits by the ghosts, but they could definitely come up to the ghost room which is not used as a room for the hotel and which tells the story of the whole thing through the pictures and the writings which are hanged on the wall.

the main reason behind visiting this place for some people might be to check the door of Game of Thrones and see the beautiful details made out of wood, and there are those who tend to visit the Ballygally Castle Hotel for the purpose of the haunted tower; so you could combine both things and visit the place for different reasons.

Door number 9 which is found in the hotel depicts the famous battle between House Stark and House Bolton in the penultimate episode of season 6; those who have seen the movie will see that this appeared through what is carved on the door: the crests of House Bolton and House Stark, Ramsey Bolton's hungry dogs and Winterfell Castle.

We loved the place and loved exploring this door from the movie and checking the whole place in general. There are other different doors which we have also been to, such as door number 3 in the Percy French Restaurant (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONv66SEr5FQ), door number 4 in the Blakes of the Hollow Pub (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqCYN1_pI-E), door number 6 in the Fullerton Arms (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGZdoJdaWkg), door number 8 in Mary McBride's Bar (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyDD3LdIHu4), as well as door number 10 in the Dark Horse Bar (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEU1fHE50Sk).

We loved the place, what do you think?

About the Site 🌐

This site provides links to random videos hosted at YouTube, with the emphasis on random. πŸŽ₯

Origins of the Idea 🌱

The original idea for this site stemmed from the need to benchmark the popularity of a video against the general population of YouTube videos. 🧠

Challenges Faced πŸ€”

Obtaining a large sample of videos was crucial for accurate ranking, but YouTube lacks a direct method to gather random video IDs.

Even searching for random strings on YouTube doesn't yield truly random results, complicating the process further. πŸ”

Creating Truly Random Links πŸ› οΈ

The YouTube API offers additional functions enabling the discovery of more random videos. Through inventive techniques and a touch of space-time manipulation, we've achieved a process yielding nearly 100% random links to YouTube videos.

About YouTube πŸ“Ί

YouTube, an American video-sharing website based in San Bruno, California, offers a diverse range of user-generated and corporate media content. 🌟

Content and Users 🎡

Users can upload, view, rate, share, and comment on videos, with content spanning video clips, music videos, live streams, and more.

While most content is uploaded by individuals, media corporations like CBS and the BBC also contribute. Unregistered users can watch videos, while registered users enjoy additional privileges such as uploading unlimited videos and adding comments.

Monetization and Impact πŸ€‘

YouTube and creators earn revenue through Google AdSense, with most videos free to view. Premium channels and subscription services like YouTube Music and YouTube Premium offer ad-free streaming.

As of February 2017, over 400 hours of content were uploaded to YouTube every minute, with the site ranking as the second-most popular globally. By May 2019, this figure exceeded 500 hours per minute. πŸ“ˆ
