Game of Thrones Door Number 8 - Cushendun Ballymena - NI Video

Home
Game of Thrones doors! Not the episode from Game of Thrones itself (episode 5 , season 6) but the amazingly crafted doors created from trees that fell at The Dark Hedges. This door is from Mary McBride's in Cushendun. The local areas were also used to film scenes from Game of Thrones! So really worth visiting.

For Connolly Cove, it is one of the most interesting things to do; to go and check all those places which appeared in Game of Thrones in real and make memories in them, and it is also exciting to track down those different doors which appeared throughout the episodes - and here is one of them.

One of the different locations in Northern Ireland where Game of Thrones was filmed is the Dark Hedges (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmAKfkn11Qc) - one of our favorites. This place is very old and is all about those beech trees which form an atmospheric tunnel and which used to lead to the house that James Stuart built back in 1775. Standing there for more than 150 years, some of these trees have died and fell down due to different reasons and at this point they were taken and transformed to those doors which you have seen in the episodes of Game of Thrones.

One of these different doors which are made from the trees of the Dark Hedges is door number 8 which is located in Mary McBride's Bar that is located in Cushendun, Ballymena - another location in Northern Ireland where some scenes from the movie were also taken, such as the Cushendun Caves (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7dNEReGod4) - so you will end up checking the door and at the same time visiting some of the other locations of the movie as well.

Inspecting this door in a closer way was an interesting experience because we got the chance to see all those details which we might have not spotted while watching the movie - that of course comes in addition to being an interesting experience to see something out of your favorite movie in real.

Mary McBride's is actually considered the smallest pub in Cushendun which one could visit and have a drink while at the same time spending a good time with friends. According to Mary McBride herself - the owner - this place carries a good history behind it and it recently opened a restaurant in the second floor which serves seafood and also chicken, duck, and steak; so you will not only see the door of Game of Thrones, but you will also enjoy a drink and get the chance to have something to eat.

There are different other doors related to the movie which we have also visited; we have seen door number 3 which is located in the Percy French Restaurant in Newcastle (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONv66SEr5FQ), we have checked door number 4 in the Blakes of the Hollow Pub in Enniskillen (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqCYN1_pI-E), we also went to see door number 6 in the Fullerton Arms Hotel in Ballintoy, Ballycastle (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGZdoJdaWkg), we reached door number 9 in the Ballygally Castle Hotel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SnEqs1sBIU), as well as door number 10 in the Dark Horse Bar in Belfast Commercial Court (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEU1fHE50Sk). There are still some doors which we didn't get the chance to check yet, but those which we have been to are mesmerizing and also located in places that you will either enjoy, get the chance to visit other places around it, or know more about the legends they might be carrying.

It might be more exciting for those fans of Game of Thrones to go behind these locations where the movie was filmed and those hotels, pubs, restaurants, or bars where the doors are found, but what we also realized is that those who are visiting these places without being fans will enjoy the beauty of the country and the views by all means and they will get astonished with the details done in the doors and the wood art they are viewing in front of their eyes.

We have been to several filming locations related to Game of Thrones as well which are in the country and which might not hold any of these 10 doors and we have to say that they all turned out to be even more beautiful than the way we have seen them on television.

Have you ever been to any of the Game of Thrones filming locations before? Are you planning to have a trip to Northern Ireland for that purpose? Tell us more!

The carpentry skills shown on this wood project are amazing!

About the Site 🌐

This site provides links to random videos hosted at YouTube, with the emphasis on random. πŸŽ₯

Origins of the Idea 🌱

The original idea for this site stemmed from the need to benchmark the popularity of a video against the general population of YouTube videos. 🧠

Challenges Faced πŸ€”

Obtaining a large sample of videos was crucial for accurate ranking, but YouTube lacks a direct method to gather random video IDs.

Even searching for random strings on YouTube doesn't yield truly random results, complicating the process further. πŸ”

Creating Truly Random Links πŸ› οΈ

The YouTube API offers additional functions enabling the discovery of more random videos. Through inventive techniques and a touch of space-time manipulation, we've achieved a process yielding nearly 100% random links to YouTube videos.

About YouTube πŸ“Ί

YouTube, an American video-sharing website based in San Bruno, California, offers a diverse range of user-generated and corporate media content. 🌟

Content and Users 🎡

Users can upload, view, rate, share, and comment on videos, with content spanning video clips, music videos, live streams, and more.

While most content is uploaded by individuals, media corporations like CBS and the BBC also contribute. Unregistered users can watch videos, while registered users enjoy additional privileges such as uploading unlimited videos and adding comments.

Monetization and Impact πŸ€‘

YouTube and creators earn revenue through Google AdSense, with most videos free to view. Premium channels and subscription services like YouTube Music and YouTube Premium offer ad-free streaming.

As of February 2017, over 400 hours of content were uploaded to YouTube every minute, with the site ranking as the second-most popular globally. By May 2019, this figure exceeded 500 hours per minute. πŸ“ˆ
