CS Lewis Square in Belfast - The Connswater Greenway Video

Home
Part of the Connswater Greenway - the CS Lewis Square is an amazing place to explore any day - for CS Lewis fans or not! The statues are some of the most famous characters from Narnia. If you have ever read the CS Lewis Book "The Chronicles of Narnia" or watched the BBC Series or Movie then you will know these characters!

Among all those different touristic places where people could visit in Belfast, Northern Ireland, there are those which might be related to famous characters that have left their prints behind through the books which they have left behind. One of these places is CS Lewis which of course is named after the famous novelist who is mostly known for "The Chronicles of Narnia".

This place is different for the sculptures that are found there and which are all related to The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. It is really interesting to move in this square and find different sculptures - they are actually seven - scattered around you; this is usually more interesting for those who have already read the novel and who are familiar with the characters, otherwise it will all be interesting for the way they are made in but they will not make any sense.

This location could be visited anytime because it is a walking area that is free to visit and where you could also enjoy walking through nature at the same time. This place which is commemorating CS Lewis, the creator of The Chronicles of Narnia who was born in Belfast (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lvcep6ttT4Y) is located at the intersection of Connswater and Comber Greenways, beside the East Side Visitor Centre - which is an important place for visitors who could access different information related to East Side famous places and attractions which they could get the chance to visit and explore.

Those seven different sculptures which are found in CS Lewis Square (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrNh2d768tM) are from "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe" and they include Aslan, the White Witch, Tumnus, The Beavers, The Robin and The Stone Table; it is really interesting to walk in this square through those different sculptures because one will feel like walking through a public place of art.

Since this is a public place for people to visit, it is actually lit and open all day long and during the whole week and you could also find a map in the centre that would tell you where to go and what you are going to find. One of the other interesting things that we found was the coffee shop which is also located there in the centre and which is named after CS Lewis as well and which is also known as "Jack" among friends and family (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QDltVJ13jE).

Since CS Lewis was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, it is important to say that the Irish people cherish such a thing and that is why in addition to this Narnia and CS Lewis Square which was created in affection to him and his work, there was also the Narnia Trail that is located in Rostrevor (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3HhH1wcp25M) and where there are also several things that reflect back to The Chronicles of Narnia from characters and other significant things that might be also related to the novel such as the famous wardrobe door that takes you into the world of miracles (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t60Z5FaJra8). We have been there before trying to explore the place and follow this trail to see what it carries for us, even the kids loved being there (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t60Z5FaJra8).

As much as this place is considered a perfect hit for all those coming to visit Belfast, Northern Ireland, we should say that it is also considered a perfect hit for children because they will most probably know about the Chronicles of Narnia and would love to walk the area and see these different sculptures and at the same time run around this green area which they will definitely enjoy.

CS Lewis is known to be a British novelist, poet, academic, medievalist literary critic, essayist, lay theologian, broadcaster, lecturer, and Christian apologist who was born in Belfast and who is best known for his work of fiction which include The Chronicles of Narnia as well as The Screwtape Letters and The Space Triology. CS Lewis has written more than 30 books and they were translated to more than 30 languages and millions of copies were sold from them but The Chronicles of Narnia sold the most and they were popularized on stage, TV, radio, and cinema; this might be one of the reasons why these different places in Belfast which are created as a memory for CS Lewis are all related to this novel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxTWDC4JHRA).

This is one of the different touristic locations in Belfast which opened in 2016 and which we definitely recommend for how beautiful it is and for being related to a famous character.

About the Site 🌐

Origins of the Idea 🌱

The original idea for this site stemmed from the need to benchmark the popularity of a video against the general population of YouTube videos. 🧠

Even searching for random strings on YouTube doesn't yield truly random results, complicating the process further. πŸ”

Creating Truly Random Links πŸ› οΈ

The YouTube API offers additional functions enabling the discovery of more random videos. Through inventive techniques and a touch of space-time manipulation, we've achieved a process yielding nearly 100% random links to YouTube videos.
