I discuss when you might choose a PhD right after a Masters program rather than going to work. The journey of going from a Masters to a PhD is based on my own personal experience, so making the decision to go to grad school really is just my own two cents. I have little to compare against. By the way, you can you get a doctorate without a masters, so not everyone will have this journey, but it is hard to get into a PhD program without a masters because people want to make sure that you are serious.
What are some reasons to go to grad school right after your masters rather than working?
1. Doing a PhD requires a lot of effort. If you go work before you go do a PhD, you are likely not going to have the motivation to go do your PhD.
2. Doing a PhD right after a Masters makes sense if you like to do research. If your goal is to do research, you should just go directly do the thing that you want to do. If you want to work, than just go work. Getting a PhD offers no benefits in the working world.
3. You are going to not have the learnt behaviors from working. Some behaviors have to be unlearnt during a PhD, and the business world sometimes teaches your poor habits that do not work well in academia.
4. A PhD right after a Masters rather than working can give you a time advantage. Many papers take a long time to get published, and the longer you are in academia, the larger this advantage.
5. You can study many of the things that you wanted to work at. For example, if you are interested in innovation and entrepreneurship, you can study innovation and entrepreneurship in your doctoral program, and get a much better understanding than you would by working at a company doing that.

David Maslach is a research professor of entrepreneurship, innovation, and business strategy, I discuss topics, such as behavioral science, strategy, innovation, and entrepreneurship, and apply these to my new peer proofreading and editing platform. Topics include the sharing economy, altruism, investing in technology, starting a business, and bounded rationality. My favorite videos pertain to incentives, goal setting, and learning from failure to drive behaviors such as weight loss, stopping telemarketers, creating novel technologies, and creating new movements.
https://r3ciprocity.com: Peer proofreading and editing platform
A new platform where you can earn credits by editing other people's documents. Use these credits to have your own work edited. If you do a good enough job, you can convert these credits to money.
The goal of the platform is to get people to 'pay it forward' and help other people out by creating incentives for people to give back.

This site provides links to random videos hosted at YouTube, with the emphasis on random. π₯
Origins of the Idea π±
The original idea for this site stemmed from the need to benchmark the popularity of a video against the general population of YouTube videos. π§
Challenges Faced π€
Obtaining a large sample of videos was crucial for accurate ranking, but YouTube lacks a direct method to gather random video IDs.
Even searching for random strings on YouTube doesn't yield truly random results, complicating the process further. π
Creating Truly Random Links π οΈ
The YouTube API offers additional functions enabling the discovery of more random videos. Through inventive techniques and a touch of space-time manipulation, we've achieved a process yielding nearly 100% random links to YouTube videos.
About YouTube πΊ
YouTube, an American video-sharing website based in San Bruno, California, offers a diverse range of user-generated and corporate media content. π
Content and Users π΅
Users can upload, view, rate, share, and comment on videos, with content spanning video clips, music videos, live streams, and more.
While most content is uploaded by individuals, media corporations like CBS and the BBC also contribute. Unregistered users can watch videos, while registered users enjoy additional privileges such as uploading unlimited videos and adding comments.
Monetization and Impact π€
YouTube and creators earn revenue through Google AdSense, with most videos free to view. Premium channels and subscription services like YouTube Music and YouTube Premium offer ad-free streaming.
As of February 2017, over 400 hours of content were uploaded to YouTube every minute, with the site ranking as the second-most popular globally. By May 2019, this figure exceeded 500 hours per minute. π
