Ohio Short Line Railroad, Rusty Rails Get Action! Ohio South Central Railroad 1951 Locomotive Action Video

Home
First train I caught on this rusty branch line railroad in Ohio with 5 customers and 64 route miles of track. Ohio South Central Railroad is a 7 year old short line railroad based in Hamden, Ohio. Trains run as needed on the lightly used Class 2 track. I was south of Chillicothe Ohio looking for CSX trains when at Vauces Ohio I spotted the locomotive pulling a short train to Hamden.First scene shows the locomotive pulling into the train yard at Hamden to shut down for the weekend. Next we go back to where the chase started on the CSX. Then we see the train crossing over US 35 at Richmond Dale. The train is seen going under us at West Junction and then it is crossing the trestle over Middle Fork Salt Creek. The train is then seen passing an awesome house by the tracks and going through a rock cut. After that we see it passing a home built into the ground just west of Hamden. There is a wye at Hamden where the 2 covered hopper cars were left for the Monday train to take south to Jackson. This railroad is ex Baltimore & Ohio Railroad and trains operate on 160.965 channel 057. Here is the new railroad frequency guide: https://dpdproductions.com/pages/railroad-frequencies-new-aar-plan . The locomotive is a GP7u built by EMD in 1951. The railroad was approved for a $367,000 grant for track work in Jackson and here is a link for information on that: https://www.vintonjacksoncourier.com/news/ohio-south-central-railroad-receives-367k-grant/article_5a550fb8-1814-5f12-9c5a-964d5d3f5184.html

About the Site 🌐

This site provides links to random videos hosted at YouTube, with the emphasis on random. πŸŽ₯

Origins of the Idea 🌱

The original idea for this site stemmed from the need to benchmark the popularity of a video against the general population of YouTube videos. 🧠

Challenges Faced πŸ€”

Obtaining a large sample of videos was crucial for accurate ranking, but YouTube lacks a direct method to gather random video IDs.

Even searching for random strings on YouTube doesn't yield truly random results, complicating the process further. πŸ”

Creating Truly Random Links πŸ› οΈ

The YouTube API offers additional functions enabling the discovery of more random videos. Through inventive techniques and a touch of space-time manipulation, we've achieved a process yielding nearly 100% random links to YouTube videos.

About YouTube πŸ“Ί

YouTube, an American video-sharing website based in San Bruno, California, offers a diverse range of user-generated and corporate media content. 🌟

Content and Users 🎡

Users can upload, view, rate, share, and comment on videos, with content spanning video clips, music videos, live streams, and more.

While most content is uploaded by individuals, media corporations like CBS and the BBC also contribute. Unregistered users can watch videos, while registered users enjoy additional privileges such as uploading unlimited videos and adding comments.

Monetization and Impact πŸ€‘

YouTube and creators earn revenue through Google AdSense, with most videos free to view. Premium channels and subscription services like YouTube Music and YouTube Premium offer ad-free streaming.

As of February 2017, over 400 hours of content were uploaded to YouTube every minute, with the site ranking as the second-most popular globally. By May 2019, this figure exceeded 500 hours per minute. πŸ“ˆ
