El nuevo Magura Cockpit Integration (MCi) es el primer freno hidráulico del mundo que está totalmente integrado en el manillar, según la marca.
Sin tubos externos, el MCi brinda una cabina limpia, una mejor dinámica aerodinámica y una mayor protección para los componentes hidráulicos, y forma parte de la nueva serie de integración de la marca.
Todos los cables se colocan dentro del manillar para brindar una apariencia ordenada y una funcionalidad mejorada, con los tubos de freno conducidos a través de la unidad del vástago y la tina de la dirección a través de orificios especiales en el manillar. Desde allí, las líneas se dirigen a la corona de la horquilla, luego al marco y al calibrador del freno delantero.
Según Magura, se están considerando otras variaciones, como el enrutamiento de cables a través de un receptor especial en el marco. El MCi es accionado por una unidad de palanca unida al manillar, que es el único componente visible del freno.
El sistema es igualmente adecuado para uso tanto de MTB como urbano, dependiendo del manillar y la unidad de vástago instalados. El ángulo de la palanca del MCi se ajusta individualmente a cada modelo de bicicleta y se optimiza para obtener la mejor posición de asiento posible.
En conjunto, Magura ha desarrollado el acoplamiento de cable Easy Link, centrado en el servicio y el mantenimiento fáciles de usar, y el MCi es el primer producto en utilizarlo. El acoplamiento Easy Link es un conector enchufable que une la línea de frenos, lo que significa que se pueden separar fácilmente durante un servicio de mantenimiento.
El sangrado de los frenos se puede realizar mediante la tecnología Easy Bleed de Magura y un tornillo de purga en el extremo del manillar.
Inicialmente, el MCi solo se reservará para los socios de OE cuando Magura actúe como proveedor de MCi y especifique componentes como manillares, unidades de vástago y enrutamiento de cables. Una versión de posventa no está prevista para un futuro próximo. Sin embargo, la innovación estará en exhibición en la Eurobike de este año.
