Phonotactics:
The permitted arrangement of sounds in a language are phonotactics. It means that there are specific patterns in every language through which words are formed.
Concepts like minimal pairs and sets also give us the clue to the authenticity of this phenomenon. Moreover, the syllable structure clearly verify that phonotactics are hard wired in every language.
Accidental Gaps:
Using our phonological knowledge, sometimes, we form such words which are correct Phonologically but do not exist in the language. For example, there are no words like "vig, tig, huj, etc," in English but Phonologically they are permitted but words like "fsig, htig, ksit, etc," do not exist or unlikely to exist in English.
Accidental Gaps are also known as "gap, accidental lexical gap, lexical gap, lacuna or gap in the pattern." Accidental gaps could exist on Lexical and Semantic level also.
