Do trading robots really work? Has anyone tried Forex robot trading? Do forex expert advisors work? Can you make money with Forex robots? And can you really trust trading robots? Do you use trading bots for forex or you don't trust them? Building a trading robot - a warning. I know a lot of traders are fond of automated systems and robots. They like to backtest stuff and build robots that work for them so as to automate the trading. I like the passion that some of these people show. I'm not that fond of backtesting; I haven't made any secret of that; I think there is a bit of a fallacy there. My warning is this. I know a guy who spent a lot of time backtesting this strategy and automating his system; he added his stop levels and limit orders and it tested okay. When he started using this algo, it seemed to work great while he was present and it was making good money. When he left the trading system to itself and he came back he found that his account was almost zero! The system was going in a loop and wasn't running properly and was just repeating itself and practically the spreads and commissions ended up eating his account equity. There was no circuit breaker! OK.
