Ingredients

tindora/dondakaya/Ivygourd 250 gms
Onion - 1 medium size
Cumin - 2 tsp
Red Chilies - 5 (Adjust to taste)
Tamarind juice - 2 tsp
Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
Salt - as required

Step 1

1. Dry roast cumin and redchilies till the cumin changes color.

2. Add them to a blender and make a coarse powder.

3. Add onion to the powder and make a coarse paste
Step 2

1. Add oil to a pan and fry tindora/dondakaya/Ivygourd pieces. Cover and cook till they are tender

2. Add the prepared onion paste , salt, turmeric and tamarind juice. Mix well and cook uncovered.

3. Fry till the mixture becomes dry. Serve with hot steamed rice.
