Dark Hedges in a 360 Degree view - What the Dark Hedges look like standing in one spot beside a tree. A quick 360 video of the most popular trees in Ireland. The world famous tree tunnel from Game of Thrones - known as the dark forest of Ireland :-) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmAKfkn11Qc)

Northern Ireland is known to be the location where Game of Thrones movie series was filmed - it was filmed in different places across the country. Since this movie turned out to be a great success and since those locations that the movie was filmed at are really worth the visit, we decided to make a trip and visit as much of them as possible - this time our destination was the Dark Hedges which is located in county Antrim and which is famously known even before the movie brought all those tourists to it.

The Dark Hedges is known to be an avenue of beach trees along Bregagh Road between Armoy and Stranocum in county Antrim, Northern Ireland. These trees form a tree tunnel and has always been known as the dark forest and this might also go back to the story that it carries and the legend that has always been related to it.

Back in 1775, James Stuart built a house and named it Gracehill after his wife Grace Lynd, and in order to create a different experience and a magnificent approach, he intended to build over 150 trees on the entrance of the house - which is now what we refer to as the dark hedges trees and which walking in this tunnel of trees is now one of the different things that people intend to do when it comes to visiting Northern Ireland.

There is a legend behind the Dark Hedges which sometimes make people a little bit scared about the idea of visiting the place. The legend says that the hedges are visited by some ghosts and the most famous one is the ghost known as the Grey Lady who tends to travel the road and cross from one side to the other, moving from tree to tree; this ghost is believed to be either the spirit of James Stuart's daughter who was named Cross Peggy or else one of the house's maids who died mysteriously, or a spirit from an abandoned graveyard beneath the fields, who on Halloween is joined on her visitation by other spirits from the graveyard.

The place is still standing until today and there is a huge number of tourists who tend to visit the place and check what this place that appeared in the Game of Thrones movie actually looks like in the real world. The thing is that, as we have mentioned, there are 150 trees planted back by James Stuart in order to make the entrance of the place different, but out of these 150 trees, only 90 remained standing by 2016 and these are also at risk to get damaged due to their health state when it comes to bad weather; which already happened and there were two trees damaged in 2016 due to the bad weather and there were also one that fell down in 2017.

A lot of things have been recently discussed about closing this road for traffic since a lot of people tend to visit it every single year and that is exactly the same reason why we are encouraging all those who can visit the place and have been putting the plan aside for some time to go for it now before all those plans discussed turn out to be true - since these trees are believed to not live more than than 20 years.

We have been to the dark hedges several times before but this time we decided to bring you a 360 degree video experience so that you could feel as if you are in the location and get the closest experience to what we had if it would be difficult for you to visit the place and check what it carries all by yourself.

We have been to other destinations related to Game of Thrones movie series when we were checking those locations that appeared in the movie, we visited Cushendun Caves (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7dNEReGod4), we have been to the Toome Canal (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b1KqyF3tj7Y), we went to the Lough Neagh which has been referred to as the Smoking Sea in the movie (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COUaQZJ8-kI), we also went to the Downhill Beach (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DhqUuCqhC8), and this comes in addition to the different doors which we have been to different restaurants and hotels in order to check, such as being to the Ballygally Castle Hotel where door number nine is located (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SnEqs1sBIU), the Dark Horse Bar where the sixth door is located (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEU1fHE50Sk), there is also the Percy French in Newcastle where third door is found (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONv66SEr5FQ), as well as the Blakes of the Hollow pub in which door number four is found (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqCYN1_pI-E).

About the Site 🌐

This site provides links to random videos hosted at YouTube, with the emphasis on random. πŸŽ₯

Origins of the Idea 🌱

The original idea for this site stemmed from the need to benchmark the popularity of a video against the general population of YouTube videos. 🧠

Challenges Faced πŸ€”

Obtaining a large sample of videos was crucial for accurate ranking, but YouTube lacks a direct method to gather random video IDs.

Even searching for random strings on YouTube doesn't yield truly random results, complicating the process further. πŸ”

Creating Truly Random Links πŸ› οΈ

The YouTube API offers additional functions enabling the discovery of more random videos. Through inventive techniques and a touch of space-time manipulation, we've achieved a process yielding nearly 100% random links to YouTube videos.

About YouTube πŸ“Ί

YouTube, an American video-sharing website based in San Bruno, California, offers a diverse range of user-generated and corporate media content. 🌟

Content and Users 🎡

Users can upload, view, rate, share, and comment on videos, with content spanning video clips, music videos, live streams, and more.

While most content is uploaded by individuals, media corporations like CBS and the BBC also contribute. Unregistered users can watch videos, while registered users enjoy additional privileges such as uploading unlimited videos and adding comments.

Monetization and Impact πŸ€‘

YouTube and creators earn revenue through Google AdSense, with most videos free to view. Premium channels and subscription services like YouTube Music and YouTube Premium offer ad-free streaming.

As of February 2017, over 400 hours of content were uploaded to YouTube every minute, with the site ranking as the second-most popular globally. By May 2019, this figure exceeded 500 hours per minute. πŸ“ˆ
